Bolivian Pink Salt is a crystal rock salt harvested from ancient rock salt beds discovered under the Andes Mountain region of Bolivia. After a volcano erupted ages ago, these salt beds were covered in volcanic lava. Over time, the lava solidified and became volcanic rock It is said that the volcanic rock protected the bed of Bolivian Pink Salt from pollution, impurities and also fortified the salt with an array of minerals.
The salts are harvested by hand using a time consuming process. After these ancient salts are crushed and gathered by hand, the salts then undergo a natural process to remove any residual impurities. Then, they are carefully dried and then ground into either a very fine or a course grain size. The salts are carefully stored so that the salts retain their purity, freshness and their natural balance of minerals.
